How an online IPTV service works
You subscribe to a provider, receive login details and enter them into a player app on your TV, phone, tablet or computer. The app pulls the channel list and programme guide from the provider and plays streams live through your internet connection.
Because it is delivered over the internet, live TV is available 24 hours a day on any device with a signal. You can watch live, catch up on recent programmes and browse on-demand movies and series in the same app.
What you can watch
- Canadian networks: CBC, CTV, Global, City, Citytv regional feeds
- Sports: TSN, Sportsnet, NHL, NBA, MLB, UFC and soccer leagues
- French-language channels for Québec and francophone Canada
- Movies, series, kids and documentaries on demand
- International channels in many languages
Browse the complete channel list before you buy.

The same subscription works across your household devices: Firestick, Android TV, Apple TV, Samsung and LG TVs, iPhone and iPad, and Windows PCs. You can also watch in a web browser on supported setups.
Live TV quality: what affects it
- Your internet speed and how many devices share it.
- Wi-Fi vs Ethernet. Wired connections are steadier.
- The decoding power of your device, especially for 4K.
- The number of viewers on the provider's servers at peak time.
- Your player's buffer and decoder settings.
Getting the best out of an online IPTV service
- Sort channels into favourites so you don't scroll thousands of entries.
- Use the programme guide to plan viewing and set reminders.
- Keep a second device ready for big sporting events.
- Refresh the playlist and guide occasionally to pick up changes.

Live TV, catch-up and on-demand together
Live channels are the core, but MapleHD includes 7-day catch-up on supported channels, so you can watch a show you missed, and a large on-demand library for movies and series. Everything is accessed from the same player interface, with the programme guide showing what is on now and next.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is an IPTV service?
An IPTV service delivers television over an internet connection instead of cable or satellite. You subscribe, get login details, and watch live channels and on-demand content in a player app on your device.
Can I watch IPTV live online 24/7?
Yes. Live channels stream around the clock as long as your internet connection is working and your subscription is active. Some events are only broadcast at certain times, as with any TV.
Do I need a special TV to use an IPTV service?
No. Most Smart TVs, Firesticks, Android TV devices, phones and computers can run an IPTV player app. Older TVs can use a Firestick or a box.
How is IPTV different from streaming apps like Netflix?
Streaming apps offer their own on-demand catalogue. IPTV provides live linear channels (like cable) plus on-demand titles, in one subscription, through any compatible player.
Does the IPTV service work outside Canada?
MapleHD is designed for Canadian viewers. Access when travelling depends on your connection and local restrictions; contact support before you travel if you rely on it.
