IPTV across Alberta
Alberta's hockey rivalry between Calgary and Edmonton, Stampeders and Elks football and a strong junior scene make sports the main reason many households look at IPTV.
IPTV works over your home internet, so your city, not a local office, does not limit it. What changes from place to place is your internet provider, the local teams you follow and the time zone your programme guide should use.

Internet providers and speeds in Alberta
Households in Alberta commonly use Telus, Shaw (now part of Rogers), Bell and regional providers, where available. Aim for about 15 Mbps per HD stream and 25 Mbps per 4K stream, and use Ethernet where you can. Our rural and small-town internet guide helps if your connection is limited.

Alberta is on Mountain Time. If programme times look off, check your device's time zone. More in our time zone guide.
Winter and reliability
Long cold spells are normal in Alberta, so people spend evenings indoors watching games. Rural areas may rely on fixed wireless or satellite internet, so plan around your real speed.
